Norske Wilfred Berthelsen, Tina Signesdottir Hult og Edward Bonnevie er blant de nominerte i konkurransen Sony World Photography Awards 2014.
De tre er valgt ut blant 140 000 bidrag fra fotografer fra 166 land og kjemper om pris i hver sin kategori. Wilfred Berthelsen er nominert i reisekategorien i den profesjonelle konkurransen for en serie med bilder av isbjørner fotografert på Svalbard.
Tina Signesdottir Hult er nominert i katgorien People i Open-konkurransen med bildet "The Green Room and I".
- Bildet inngår i en serie jeg kaller "The portraits of Lina" fotografiet er tatt i en gammel stue fra gruvetiden i Visnes på Karmøy, forteller Hult til foto.no og beskriver bildet som et nært og følelsesladet portrett med en sterk koloritt.

18 år gamle Edward Bonnevie er nominert i miljøkategorien i ungdomskonkurransen, som er åpen for fotografer under 20 år. Han er nominert for bildet Refuge, tatt på nedlagte Lier sykehus.
- Institusjonen skulle egentlig være et fristed for psykisk syke mennesker. For mange av pasientene, ble Lier alt annet enn et fristed, grunnet bl.a. eksperimenter med lobotomi og psykedelika. Derav navnet Refuge. Slik det forlatte Lier sykehus fremstår i dag, er det bare et minne om hva det egentlig skulle være, i tillegg til alt det aldri var, forteller Bonnevie, som til daglig går andreåret på Medier og Kommunikasjon, til foto.no.

Sony World Photography Awards arrangeres i år for sjuende gang. I fjorårets konkurranse stakk Andrea Gjestvang av med selve hovedprisen og ble kåret til Sony World Photographer of the Year 2013 med sin bildeserie "En dag i historien".
Alle de nominerte bildene skal stilles ut på Somerset House i London 1-18. mai. Vinnerne av årets profesjonelle konkurranse kåres under en seremoni i London 30. april, mens vinnerne av Open-konkurransen kåres 18. mars.
